2011 Mazda2: Second Oil Change!

This Saturday was the second oil change on my 2011 Mazda2. My friend Matt suggested that we complete the task in his workshop, as he had something to show me. Appropriately, I turned into his driveway just as my odometer ticked over 6,000 miles. While I may not make it to church every Sunday, I’d still say I’m pretty religious…
What Matt wanted to show me was his new Kawasaki Versys, which is like a standard version of the Ninja 650R. In Matt’s words, “You got a lime green thing with 0 miles on it so I had to get one too.” It’s a beautiful bike - if my passion were to drift from four wheels to two, it’d be near the top of my list.
Just like last time, I used Mobil 1 0W-20 synthetic and a Purolator PureONE oil filter. Since then, average fuel economy has improved to 33.5, and I took the liberty of sticking one of my Japan Relief Stickers to the rear window (you should too!). Dishearteningly, the chrome has started to peel from the little “2” emblem on the hatch. I’m going to have the dealer replace it, but if the problem persists, I may just end up swapping it for a JDM “Demio” badge. Otherwise, there are no problems to report, and the car is way more fun than an econobox has any right to be.
